Visit Fremantle, there is so many things to see here with local weekend markets, the old goal and the beautiful stone streets.
Upper Swan River Lunch cruise
Go for a walk along the Lotterywest Federation Walkway in Kings Park for a different view of the city / river.
1. Visit Rottnest Island
A trip to Perth is not complete without taking a day trip to the iconic Rottnest island for its beauty and to say hello to the little fury Quokkas.
How to get there?
Purchase a day/ferry ticket from Rottnest Express or a similar company.
They also have snorkel hire, bike hire and bus tour add-ons if you choose.
2. Explore Maragret River
Known for its wine and annual surfing competition, Margaret River would be on most people’s lists to visit when in Perth! Full of gorgeous food and not far from the many limestone caves along the coastline!
How to get there?
If you don’t have a hire car you can still get down to Margaret River on a day tour or overnight trip with companies such as:
– Mcleod Tours
– Australian Pinnacle Tours
3. Explore Fremantle
Home of the Fremantle Dockers and World Heritage Fremantle Prison. Fremantle has always been a favourite of mine, filled with old colonial buildings, some original cobblestone streets and plenty of hidden food spots to keep me busy throughout the day! Also home to the Little Creatures Brewery!
How to get there?
The easiest option, if you’re staying in Perth, is to catch the train to Fremantle.
Find the train schedule via Transperth.
4. Have Lunch or Dinner onboard a cruise along the Swan River
If you’re after something touristy to do but a bit of downtime then an option is to take a lunch river cruise down the Swan River.
5. Walk through Kings Park
The 399.9-hectare park Botanical Park overlooking Perth CBD & Swan River is a great day out with great views across to the city!
How to get there?
Catch a cab, bus or walk
Find the bus schedules via Transperth.
6. Adventure down to Albany
If you hire a car and have a spare day or two I highly recommend a road trip down the South Coast. Some of the best beaches are down this way such as Elephant Rocks / Greens Pools.
How to get there?
Hire a car or you can visit part of a south coast tour with companies such as:
– Australian Pinnacle Tours
7. See the Iconic “Wave Rock”
If you have a spare full day as it is a bit of a trek then book a tour (or self-drive) out to Wave Rock.
How to get there?
Hire a car or you can visit part of a tour with companies such as:
– Australian Pinnacle Tours
8. Visit the Pinnacles National Park
If you would like to see the famous Pinnacles, you could visit them during the afternoon and also get the opportunity of stargazing as well or maybe if you want a more action-packed adventure you could opt for Sandboarding while you’re there.
How to get there?
Hire a car or you can visit part of a tour with companies such as:
